Maryvonne LaParlière was raised
in Rueil -Malmaison, a town
outside of Paris, of which her father was Mayor of.
Early in life she discovered her love of art and
painting. When she was a young girl she moved with her family
to the Loire Valley châteaux, where the countryside and sunflower
contributed to her strong bond with nature. She trained at the French
school "Les Beaux Arts" in Tours. After moving to Santa
Barbara, California in 1987, where her work was readily received,
her clientel grew to include celebrities such as Priscilla Presley,
Steven Seagal and Larry Hagman. In 1995 she moved to Virginia, where
she established her own gallery.
Maryvonne LaParlière is a French born artist, muralist,
and
decorative painter with a constant flow of creativity which contributes
to a wide range of Art at all levels. She is a painter whose works
are diverse and wide ranging. Her speciality is transforming spaces
- whether they be blank canvases of unlimited size, whole pieces
of furniture, or entire rooms from floors to ceilings. Her vibrant
paintings resemble French impressionism, while others come from
a deeper realm within the artist, appearing more surreal and emotional.
